Lea Hurley is a leader in Booz Allen’s Navy Marine Corps (NMC) business, focused on serving Marine Corps clients from Europe to Asia. She works with other senior leaders to drive cross-functional cyber solutions and is the general manager for Washington, DC area employees serving NMC clients.
Lea has 18 years of combined experience in cybersecurity, 15 of those at Booz Allen. Prior to her current role, she drove strategic investment activities focused on integrating the firm’s resources to grow and transform the defense business. She also led internal cybersecurity talent development initiatives and the integration of all cybersecurity-related investments.
Previously, Lea was a business leader for NMC clients and led the implementation of the Navy/Marine Corps cyber growth platform strategy by identifying future demands and opportunities to provide next-generation cyber capabilities to her clients.
From 2011–2015, Lea was based at Booz Allen’s Honolulu office, focused on Pacific-based clients. She led the expansion of Booz Allen's presence in Okinawa, growing the team from six to 68 staff in an 18-month period. Lea also led efforts to establish a long-term presence in Okinawa by opening the first Booz Allen office in this location in 2015. She also worked in our Seoul office where she led the expansion into multiple new client organizations and served as the program manager for a portfolio of IT projects.
Lea began her career with Booz Allen providing network management expertise to the United States Pacific Command in Hawaii. In this role, she was instrumental in establishing policies and programs that codified information sharing relationships with the intelligence and operations communities as well as coalition partners to provide assessments of current and emerging threats, and develop course of action recommendations for every evolving cyber landscape.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Lea served as a computer operator in the U.S. Air Force, assigned to Headquarters Pacific Air Forces.
In 2015, she was recognized as one of 40 most accomplished professionals under the age of 40 in the state of Hawaii. Lea serves as an executive sponsor to the Asian Pacific American Forum and supports STEM Girls for Social Good and the Women’s Golf Networking committee.
Lea has a B.S. in business management and is a certified information systems security professional.
