Sherri Farrell is a leader in Booz Allen’s commercial cyber business, based out of Austin, Texas. She specializes in tailoring and applying right-sized processes to deliver efficient, consistent, and scalable client solutions.
Sherri started working for Booz Allen as her third job out of college after first working in government. She began at the firm as a software developer, working with a team of analysts to assess enemy networks for a classified government client. Next, based on her ability to translate highly complex technical concepts for all audiences, Sherri pivoted to technical project management and consulting. In that role, she helped develop the firm’s warfare-based simulation tools.
Sherri’s next stop was Booz Allen’s Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Organization (JIDO) mission IT team, where she focused on developing and deploying an “Attack the Network” tool suite on classified networks. During her 10 years supporting JIDO, she advanced from web developer to development team lead to software assurance manager, and eventually to mission IT program manager.
Immersed in compelling challenges and surrounded by inspiring talent for more than 13 years, Booz Allen’s empowering work environment encouraged Sherri to continue to push her boundaries and invest great passion into her projects. After a short stint exploring a completely different industry at Facebook, Sherri returned to Booz Allen to apply her government consulting and industry experience to support the firm’s commercial clients.
Sherri has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Longwood University.
