Jackie Murray Sees the Power of Investing in People

Whether helping a new employee find their footing or volunteering at Women in Data Science and STEM events, Jackie Murray recognizes the value of investing time and energy in people. She lives her life with purpose and sees each moment as an opportunity to have a positive impact on those around her.

This guiding principle is part of what led her to Booz Allen. After supporting the U.S. Air Force as a government civilian, commercial contractor, and employee of a Federally Funded Research and Development Center, Booz Allen was a natural fit with her desire to advance data capabilities needed by the high-flying military branch. During this journey, Jackie had mentors that coached her, solidifying her valuation of the power of investing in people. “The investment of their time changed the trajectory of my career,” she says.

One of the things Jackie loves about Booz Allen is the energy, diversity, intellect, and passion of the people. “As a company, Booz Allen allows and encourages us to continually learn, grow, and remake ourselves over time,” she says. “We have freedom to change and pursue new interests.” She greatly values the corporate culture, which encourages employees to be charitable, value individuals, and embrace inclusiveness of people from all backgrounds.

Jackie is incredibly proud of the solutions her team delivers to advance digital, cyber, and analytics capabilities for the Air Force. She recently led a team of digital and analytics architects and engineers in the development of a worldwide data analytics platform for the aviating military branch. It's a project that improves Air Force mission execution during both conflict and peace-time operations by giving data scientists access to critical information assets that enable high-end data analytics for improved decision effectiveness.  

Jackie's proudest accomplishment at Booz Allen reflects her life’s purpose: “I have had the privilege of experiencing multiple events at Booz Allen that fill me with pride," she says. "The first is about investing in people. I watched as an employee was struggling to find success here. As a company, we chose to invest, mentor, and create opportunities for success. I watched this individual grow, change, and contribute to our company values. What a transformation!”

Jackie's devotion to the power of positivity is clear outside of work as well. Among her many volunteer commitments, she spends time preparing meals for families at the Ronald McDonald House, collecting items for the Miami Valley Women’s Center, supporting the CARE Program for abused children, organizing the collection of old cell phones for recycling precious metals for Earth Day, and staffing the phone banks for the Dayton Children’s Hospital Radiothon. Through the unwavering investment of her time and positive energy, Jackie is truly changing the world.
