Joel Johnson is an experienced executive with more than 25 years of proven success leading U.S.-based and global organizations through enterprise business and IT transformations.
He’s currently the project director for the firm’s Next Generation Modernization initiative. NextGen is analyzing and making improvements to the firm’s management and infrastructure systems to better support the firm and its clients today and in the future. Joel excels at client relationship management and team leadership with a specific focus on mentorship and employee retention.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Joel worked for IBM Global Business Services for 12 years, leading global transformation projects for strategic clients. There, he focused on implementing innovative business and technology solutions for major clients across industries.
Prior to working with IBM, Joel worked at Oracle Consulting where he led Oracle Financials and Human Capital Management application suite implementations for the world’s largest banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies.
Joel also served stints at Deloitte Consulting, BDM International (a subsidiary of Ford Aerospace), and Grant Thornton. For the latter two, he provided consulting services to Federal Government clients including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
Joel earned a degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point) and served as an active duty commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
