Peter Clare, a managing director at The Carlyle Group and co-head of its U.S. Buyout Group, has been a member of our board since 2008. In addition to serving as its presiding director, he is also chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and a member of the Compensation Committee.
As a founding member of the Carlyle Asia Buyout team, Peter played a significant role in several of the investment firm’s greatest successes. Prior to joining Carlyle in 1992, he was with First City Capital Corporation, a private equity group, and the Interfunding/Merchant Banking Group of Prudential-Bache Capital Funding. Peter sits on the boards of CommScope, Inc., Pharmaceutical Product Development, and Sequa Corp.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University and received his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
