With many flight paths near major cities, public safety is the primary mission for our nation’s space and missile launch ranges. Two ranges like these are located at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. These sites launch satellites used for global positioning systems, weather monitoring, communications, and national defense and intelligence.
Faced with an aging infrastructure, rising costs, and shifting priorities, U.S. Air Force Space Command chose Booz Allen to help reimagine launch range operations and maintain critical infrastructure while improving safety and security. The team’s systems engineering and integration (SE&I) expertise led to major improvements in how to manage assets, cut costs, and fix vulnerabilities.
