As many of you know, May is Military Appreciation Month. As the month comes to a close I am reminded of how much the military community, veterans, their spouses and families are part of the fabric of Booz Allen.
Throughout this month the firm has supported a broad spectrum of nonprofit partners supporting our military and veterans including, but not limited to, USO, Give an Hour, The Mission Continues, TAPS, and the National Memorial Day Parade. I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention Operation Homefront, an organization near and dear to my heart. Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. I’ve supported the organization in numerous capacities over the last 7 years as a volunteer, chapter board member and currently as a National Board Member.
In the coming weeks offices across the country will be supporting Operation Fill a Lunchbox, an effort coordinated by Operation Homefront in preparation for the start of the next school year. The program supports children of our service members by providing them with healthy snacks so they can attend school ready to learn. For more information, contact Eileen Miller.
This month is designated as a time to honor our service members and families, and I am proud to work for a firm that recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by this community every day. To learn more about Booz Allen’s community involvement, visit About Booz Allen.
