LESSONS IN BEING TRUE
As Booz Allen celebrates its 100th anniversary, one of the ways we are honoring the legacy left by our founder, Edwin Booz, is by holding a series of “Ed Talks”—town hall events during which senior leaders share personal stories about the firm and its values with an audience of employees. In the first Ed Talk , on our anniversary theme “Start with Character,” Chairman and CEO Dr. Ralph W. Shrader shared anecdotes about the characters who have shaped who he is today and some lessons he learned from them.
Here, President and Chief Operating Office Horacio Rozanski presents the second of four Ed Talks. Reflecting on the meaning of integrity—and what it means to act with integrity at Booz Allen—he sums up his belief as:
• Be true to yourself
• Be true to those around you
• Be true to your values
To illustrate these principles in action, he shares three powerful stories—and the lessons he learned from them—including one that he says “bound me to this institution in a way that to this day, I am ready to do whatever it takes to ensure that integrity endures.”
