McLean, Va — Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. (NYSE: BAH) today announced that the National Security Agency’s Cyber Incident Response Assistance (CIRA) accreditation program has formally recognized its CyberReady Incident Response program as an industry leader in delivering cyber incident response assistance to owners and operators of National Security Systems (NSS). The NSS includes all U.S. government classified networks, including any telecommunications system used or operated by an agency or contractor involving intelligence or cryptologic activities related to national security, command and control of military forces, and equipment that is an integral part of a weapon or weapons system.
To achieve the NSA National Security Cyber Assistance Program (NSCAP) CIRA accreditation, Booz Allen underwent a rigorous review of 21 incident response critical focus areas to validate that its incident response processes, technologies and trained cyber professionals can consistently deliver incident response assistance in the defense of the nation’s most critical systems.
“It’s an honor for Booz Allen’s CyberReady Incident Response Service to receive this important recognition,” said Brad Medairy, senior vice president, Booz Allen. “With the complex cyber threat landscape and its potential to negatively affect every industry, our Incident Response program ensures that organizations are ready and able to handle the cyber threats of today and the future with a proactive and holistic approach.”
CyberReady Incident Response redefines risk mitigation and response readiness by combining actionable intelligence and deep expertise across the entire enterprise. The service conducts a full lifecycle analysis to determine the exact nature of an adversary’s origins and delivers methods for remediating its presence while preventing further intrusions. "Discovering an adversary's origins is highly actionable intelligence. Through a combination of years of incident response experience with big data and intelligence driven tools and processes, CyberReady Incident Response provides insights into the threat actor's objectives and capabilities, and focuses a breach response on the key indicators of compromise," notes Randy Hayes, Booz Allen's vice president for Cyber Threat Intelligence.
Each day government organizations face the possibility of becoming a victim of a successful cyber-attack. Organizations must be ready to engage the right company to help them restore integrity to compromised systems. Today’s enterprise is only as strong as its weakest link and the need for agility and responsiveness is important for effective defense.
“Networks are under constant cyber attack by well-funded, motivated and sophisticated adversaries. Organizations supporting the security of our nation must be able to rapidly detect, scope, contain and assess the damage of successful intrusions. The CIRA program is a high standard of accreditation that ensures partners responding to cyber intrusions are able to meet the tremendous responsibility of protecting our country,” said Tony Harris, Senior Associate, Booz Allen.
