We’ve compiled the following statements, guidance, and best practices for the COVID-19 pandemic from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA):

• Implement basic infection prevention measures.
• Ensure proper facility cleaning.
• Practice self-distancing.
• Consider implementing staggered shifts where teleworking is unavailable.
• CDC and OSHA recommend using a combination of standard precautions, contact precautions, airborne precautions, and eye protection (e.g., goggles or face shields) to protect workers from exposure to the virus.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes: gloves, goggles, face shields, face masks, and respiratory protection, when appropriate. During an outbreak of an infectious disease, such as COVID-19, recommendations for PPE specific to occupations or job tasks may change depending on geographic location, updated risk assessments for workers, and information on PPE effectiveness in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
• The World Health Organization has provided guidance on when and how to use masks.
