Retired Major General Jonathan Maddux leads Booz Allen’s U.S. Army Command and Control, and operational intelligence programs. He serves as strategic advisor, provides oversight of the firm’s work on the Army’s Distributed Common Ground Systems, and oversees systems engineering and technical integration services for Army program executive offices, program management offices, and other senior leaders at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Jon entered the Army as an enlisted soldier in 1976. After a 3-year tour, he earned a B.S. and a B.B.A. and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. He served in a number of command and leadership positions over the course of his military career including:
- Program executive officer, Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation
- Program executive officer, Ammo
- Deputy commanding general, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan
- Program manager, Future Combat Systems Network Systems Integration
- Commander, Signal Detachment, 75th Ranger Regiment, following a successful company command of B Company, 38th Signal Battalion
Jon received numerous awards and decorations during his military career, including: the Defense Distinguished Service Award, five awards of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, four awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, six awards of the Army Commendation Medal, two awards of the Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Master Parachutist Badge, and the coveted Black and Gold Ranger Tab.
Jon has a B.S. in English and a B.B.A. in operations research and systems analysis from Eastern Michigan University. He also holds three master’s degrees, in strategy from the U.S. Army War College, telecommunications from University of Colorado, and human resource management from Central Michigan University.
