Ben Marglin

When did you start having an interest in public sector service? During college I interned in the CNN political department during the 1992 presidential campaign and had a chance to interview Pat Buchanan, who at the time was running in the Republican primaries. In addition, I was able to work for CNN during the Democratic National Convention that summer in New York. I also interned for U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy in his Boston office, and working with constituents there left a strong impression on me about public service.      
What was one of your first jobs out of school? I worked on Capitol Hill for three years for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, first as a staff assistant in the mailroom, and then as her scheduler.                                         

If you need to explain your work to someone unfamiliar with Booz Allen, what do you say? I’m an IT strategist, primarily focused on helping to connect federal agency mission and business needs with technology solutions.

What do you like doing when you’re not working?  I spend time with my family. My wife and I have two children—one is a freshman in college, and the other is a second grader. Also, I’m originally from the Boston area, so I’m still a passionate fan of the city’s sports teams.                                                                                                      
What do you love most about your job? My colleagues. I came to Booz Allen over 15 years ago from another firm. During the recruiting process and ever since, I’ve been impressed with the quality of people that Booz Allen has in the fold. That has always been, and continues to be, one of the key differentiators that we bring to the market. It’s inspiring to work next to such a great group of colleagues
