Eric Syphard is the chief data scientist responsible for leading the delivery of data science and machine intelligence services to Booz Allen’s Army clients. He engages with clients to understand their challenges and deliver the best solutions to solve them. Additionally, Eric manages the development of new and disruptive machine intelligence solutions that will drive impact on our clients’ missions and/or our business.
Eric is recognized for his ability to apply data engineering and analysis expertise in ways that provide competitive business advantages and uncover insights to pressing research problems. More than a decade’s worth of client engagements have taught him to seamlessly apply critical thinking, problem solving, and consulting skills.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Eric was responsible for providing biostatistical support to researchers at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he implemented statistical algorithms used to evaluate data, which was used to support funding requests for future research efforts. He was the statistician on two published epidemiological studies.
Eric earned his B.S. in integrated science and technology from James Madison University, and his M.S. in statistics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In addition, he’s a Hortonworks certified Apache Hadoop developer, accredited professional statistician through the American Statistical Association, and certified project management professional.
