The emergence of intelligent machines as a new technological force necessitates a thoughtful and comprehensive policy response in the United States. Our nation now finds itself at the precipice of a new defining moment in history. The world’s great powers are entering a technological contest that will parallel or exceed the Space Race in the magnitude of its economic, geopolitical, and societal consequences.
The United States must respond much as we did in August 1958 when the race to space was upon us. Leaders of Booz Allen’s machine intelligence group will be discussing how a national strategy to machine intelligence will ensure our nation maintains our technological advantage, advances our economy, preserves our social norms and values, and protects our citizens.
